Events

The Association supports a number of events such as regular live music in the courtyard of Block S of Newcastle Campus, as well as free BBQ's and other activities.

Upcoming BBQs

We have a few Semester Two Orientation events coming up across Hunter TAFE Campuses.

- Tues July 20th, Newcastle Campus (Tighes Hill), outside the Bookshop from 11.30am to 1pm, live music from Crocq and Jessica Cain

- Wed July 28th, Glendale Campus, outside the Bookshop/Canteen from 11.45am to 12.45pm, live music from Bob Corbett

- Wed August 4th, Maitland Campus, outside the Bookshop from 11.45am to 12.45pm, live music from Nick Saxon

- Wed August 11th, Wyong Campus, outside the Bookshop from 11.45am to 12.45pm, live music from Amy Vee

 

Hunter TAFE Band Comp

Congratulations to LITTLE BLAK DRESS for winning the 2010 Hunter TAFE Band Comp at The Bar On The Hill, May 21st. The competition was very close but it will be Little Blak Dress representing Hunter TAFE at the TAFE NSW State Final at the Lewisham Hotel in Sydney on Friday August 27th with the chance to progress through the National Campus Band Competition.

 

Live At The Lunchbox

Weekly live music at Newcastle Campus
Every Monday of Semester 1 from 12pm to 1pm in the courtyard outside the bookshop.
Run by Music Department in conjunction with the Student Association

Hunter TAFE Band Comp Final

Friday May 21st, The Bar On The Hill, featuring The Shivering Indies, Alice vs Everything, Truth Ruby, Waiting For Adam, and Little Blak Dress. 7.30pm to 11pm, FREE ENTRY, Under 18's welcome

Sheduled to be held at 12pm on Wednesday March 24th in the library at Newcastle Campus.

Orientation Week - February 2010

Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th at Newcastle Campus - Live music, street performers, free bbq, drinks giveaways, information stalls. Live performances from Mark Wells, Samara Cullen, Jamo Jamo Arts, Daniel March, Amy Vee, and more.

Tuesday 16th at Maitland Campus - Live music, free bbq, drinks giveaways. Live performances from Ben Bradly and Jessica Cain.

Wednesday 17th at Glendale Campus - Live music, free bbq, drinks giveaways, information stalls. Live performances from Bianca Jagoe and Adam Miller.

Thursday 18th at Wyong Campus - Live music, free bbq, drinks giveaways. Live performances from Scott Forbes and Sarah Humphreys.

September 2009

National Campus Band Competition Regional Finals
The TAFE NSW Student Associaton Band Comp winners, Caleb Skips Chemistry, from the Hunter will perform at the Northern Region Finals of the National Campus Band Comp. For more information See our Facebook Event

June 2009

Glendale Live Music
On Wednesday 17 June we will be running a live music gig in the Canteen from 9.15am. Scott Forbes and Samara Cullen will be performing.

A successful BBQ and Music event was supprted by The Association for students who attend Newcastle Campus on a Tuesday.
April 2009
The Association provided a BBQ and live Entertainment for Youth Week on Newcastle campus. This included a soccer match between the Health & Fitness students and the African Soccer Club.

Febuary 2009

Look out for O-Week 2009 to be held at Newcastle Campus over 3 days, and a new 1 day event at Glendale.

15 October: The Association is supporting Mental Health Day by supplying a free BBQ and music in the courtyard of Block S of Newcastle Campus. Live Music to start about 1100 with the BBQ kicking off about 12.

September 2008
24 September: The Association will have a free BBQ on this Wednesday in conjunction with Live at the Lunchbox, held in the grassed aread outside Block E of Newcastle Campus. This is in a different location to support the 70th birthday of Block E and Newcastle Campus. BBQ and live music to kick off from about 12.
