On Monday September 19th, the Student Association is supporting the Golden Towel event with a free BBQ lunch, live music and a soccer match on the main oval.

TAFEs and bricklaying colleges throughout Australia have been invited by the CMAA NSW Committee, in co-operation with TAFE NSW, to participate in the 10th Biennial Golden Trowel Award.
The 2011 event is being held in Newcastle at the NSW TAFE Hunter Institute, on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 September, beginning with a welcome barbecue and briefing session at the college on Sunday evening 18 September 2011.

Orientation events will be happening across Newcastle, Glendale, Maitland and Wyong campuses. These events include a free BBQ and live music at all campuses as well as some other events at some campuses.
